On Sunday 30 October, the Clarinet & Saxophone Society of Great Britain will be hosting its first in-person event since the pandemic at the Royal College of Music in London. As with previous CASSGB events, the day will provide an opportunity to meet other members, play together in massed ensembles, attend masterclasses, browse and try out a range of products, and hear performances from a variety of up-and-coming and established artists.

 

Entry price:

Students: £10
CASS Members: £25
Non CASS members: £45 to include a free year's CASS membership*

  • Separate ensembles for clarinet and saxophone. Instruments of all sizes welcome.
  • Clarinet ensemble led by Peter Fielding and Stephanie Reeve
  • Saxophone ensemble led by James Rae, Naomi Sullivan and Amy Green
  • Masterclass for clarinetists focusing on Brahms sonatas for clarinet  led by Leslie Craven. Workshop for saxophonists led by Rob Ironside.
  • RCM Cafeteria will be open serving light refreshments and drinks
  • Entry to the RCM museum included in the ticket price and will be open throughout the day
  • Trade exhibitions with all the latest instruments, accessories and publications will be present throughout the day for you to try and buy!

The playing sessions will be open to all ticket holders, who are welcome to bring along any size of clarinet or saxophone. Music will be provided on the day for a variety of ability levels, although some previous sight-reading and ensemble playing experience will be an advantage.

The trade exhibition will take place in the RCM café with representation from a range of manufacturers, retailers and publishers. The café will also be open serving drinks and light refreshments throughout the day. As an added bonus, tickets to the event also include entry to the world-famous RCM museum. Located on site at the RCM, the museum features a range of music-related objects drawn from a collection of over 14,000 items, including instruments, portraits, sculptures and photographs, so it’s well worth a look!
