Double Premiere Week for CASS

Double Premiere Week for CASS

This article was posted on 28 Feb 2014.

This week we're enjoying the premiere of two major new works commissioned with the help of CASS funding. Yesterday, the award winning Borealis Saxophone Quartet gave the world premiere of Gary Carpenter's The North during a prestigious lunch time concert at St John's Smith Square. On Saturday the British Clarinet Ensemble are giving the UK premiere of Andy Scott's Jumbo during the East Anglian Single Reed Choir's 25th Anniversary Gala Concert at Swinburn Hall, Colchester Institute.

Jumbo joins Andy Scott's Paquito and Fujiko (also commissioned with the help of CASS funding) to form a new three movement work. We are sure that both Scott's Jumbo and Carpenter's The North will become popular additions to the clarinet choir and saxophone quartet repertoires respectively.
