RNCM Saxophone Day : 5 November

RNCM Saxophone Day : 5 November

This article was posted on 8 Aug 2017.

The Royal Northern College of Music Saxophone Day is the UK’s largest annual sax gathering, welcoming players of all ages and abilities for a day of participatory workshops and concerts.

The day begins with a chance for everyone to play in the Massed Saxophone Orchestra. This year there is also a concert by sax ‘supergroup’ Group S, featuring John Helliwell (Supertramp), Simon Willescroft (Duran Duran), Krzysztof Urbanski and the Apollo Saxophone Quartet, plus an incredible rhythm section that features guest pianist Jason Rebello (Sting), Laurence Cottle and Elliott Henshaw. Timothy McAllister will also perform, following his reprisal of John Adams’ City Noir with Gustav Dudamel and the Berlin Philharmonic this summer. Rob Buckland and Andy Scott are the artistic directors.

To book a full Day Ticket (£34, Students/Under-18s £17) please call the RNCM Box Office on 0161 907 5555. Visit the RNCM website for full details of the day.
