Premiere of Andy Scott Momento for clarinet choir

The first performance of Andy Scott's new piece for clarinet choir will take place on 4th September in the Caldero, Italy. The British Clarinet Esnemble is joining forces with the South Tirol clarinet choir for a shared concert on the second leg of their European tour.

The BCE have just returned from an eventful trip to Groningen where they performed concerts alongside the Capriccio Clarinet Orchestra, directed by John de Beer and Charles Hine. Drama ensued on the Sunday morning when the hotel in which they were staying had to be evacuated. The casino building opposite the hotel had caught fire, and as the blaze took hold it was clear that this was a major incident in the town. The fire raged throughout the day destroying the entire casino building.

The concert on Sunday had to be cancelled. However thanks to the fantastic support of John de Beer and the town of Groningen. A second concert was hastily organized in the impressive Groningen Martinikerk church the following day.
