Ticket Offer: 20% off Mark Bowden Saxophone Concerto World Premier

This article was posted on 23 Nov 2018.

We are delighted to offer CASSGB members 20% off tickets to the world premier of Mark Bowden's saxophone concerto, performed by Simon Haram and the London Sinfonietta on Friday 7 December, 7.45pm at the Purcell Room, London. Bowden's music has been described by the Guardian as 'an exceptional and absorbing pleasure' and the 39-year-old's saxophone concerto is inspired by Yuval Noah Harari’s bestselling history of humankind, Sapiens.

The piece forms part of an evening exploring links between musical composition and literature, including the world premiere of Colin Matthews’ As Time Returns, a setting of poems by Czech poet Ivan Blatný, and Oliver Knussen's Songs Without Voices. After the performance, composers Bowden and Matthews will discuss their new works and literary inspirations in a free post-concert talk with writer and journalist, Bidisha.

To claim this offer, book using the Southbank Centre booking page and enter the promo code SAPIENSTWENTY when selecting seats.
