Trish Clowes named Wigmore Hall associate artist

This article was posted on 1 May 2021.

Saxophonist and composer Trish Clowes has been named as one of nine new Wigmore Hall associate artists, committing to a five-year relationship with at least one performance per season. The appointments were announced as the London venue unveiled plans to re-open to the public on 17 May, including a special 25-concert festival to celebrate its 120th anniversary.

On the same day Clowes was announced as associate artist, her eclectic recital with pianist Ross Stanley (who plays in Clowes band, My Iris) was broadcast online as part of Wigmore’s ‘empty hall’ Spring Series, which is still available to watch on YouTube.

Some of you may recognise Clowes’ name from the latest issue of Clarinet & Saxophone, where she and composer Joe Culter spoke about their latest collaboration on the saxophone concerto Hawaii Hawaii Hawaii.
